THANK YOU!!!!

You know- every so often I get down in the dumps with the number of dogs we get in and some of their stories.. It really bothers me how there can be so many horrible people that we live among..  However, then we get in contact with some amazing people— you know those people that just give us that extra push to continue what we are doing..

So first off I want to thank all of our wonderful adopters!!! Without you all opening up your hearts and homes these fur babies would have no place to go.  Some of you I talk to frequently almost daily— one in particular I have grown close to and we talk almost daily.. He is an amazing friend named Charles who has an amazing love for pit bulls and is just a great person who has now adopted 3 babies from us— I know I can always talk to him about the issues the rescue sometimes faces. So my heart goes out to you all who have adopted from us whether I talk to you a lot or only very seldom via e-mail.

Then we have my friends (I include Valencia County AC and some of the staff at City of Abq AC in this group) and family who I am always venting to, bouncing ideas off of and of course asking advice from!!  These are people I owe my sanity to!!!  There have been so many times when I have said, “No more!!!  I can’t do this anymore—it’s too hard!!” My mom of course is always there to say, “Oh just give it time– you won’t stop; this is your passion. Things will look better tomorrow”, and she’s right.  Things do get better and I keep going regardless because I know that this might be these dogs last chance if they can’t come here or to another rescue then a lot of them would be euthanized.

There’s that saying that is always in the back of my mind "Saving the life of one animal may not change the world, but the world will surely change for that one animal"..  I know these people, and they know who they are, will always be there for me even if it’s just to listen to me vent!!!

I also want to thank the Desert View Elementary School 1st grade students for putting the “Pennies For Puppies” fundraiser together and selecting us as the receiving group.. It was awesome!!!  These kids really did an amazing collecting money from the entire school.. Every student from the school took in their pennies to help these homeless animals so we are very thankful they chose us..  At the end of the month we went out to the school with 6 of the dogs and talked to them a little bit about what we do and responsibility when owning dogs and why these dogs are with us instead of in homes with their own families..  The entire school was great— the staff seemed to truly just love the dogs as did the children.. Thank you Desert View Elementary!

We want to thank the Woodmen of the World for their great donation of 2 dog houses!!!!  They are beautiful!!  The kids in their camp built and painted them for us!!!  We are so thankful for groups like this who are so willing to help us!!!!  Thank you so much!!!
